In Yemen, drought and unsafe water are one of the biggest issues people are facing. Because of water scarcity and the lack of rain in the past few years, we have taken it upon ourselves to help the worst-hit villages. At SABA Relief, we believe that clean water is the first step to get out from poverty and sickness. Therefore, we aim to provide clean drinking water to as many poor and needy families in Yemen.
Yemen is one of the most water-scarce countries in the world:
It is a basic human right to water and sanitation and it has been acknowledged by the UN, that clean drinking water and sanitation are essential to the realisation of all human rights. Water is essential for life to survive – a lack of water can result in severe illness and, worse still, death.
When living in suitable living conditions, its hard to imagine a life without basic necessities, but that’s the life of the Yemeni population.
Currently over half the population of Yemen – some 14.4 million people – are struggling to find clean drinking water. It is already one of the most water-scarce countries in the world and conflict has only resulted in further damage to water systems throughout Yemen.

We aim to provide clean water to the worst-hit areas
On a monthly basis, we are driving litre water tanks throughout areas in Yemen to deliver water to those in need. We also deliver smaller water tanks throughout neighbourhoods allowing people to refill their big bottles and house-attached water tanks.
This ensures that families have a supply of clean water, both for drinking and growing food, on a monthly basis.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The best charity is giving water to drink” and he was the most generous in giving charity. (as narrated in Ahmad).
You can help us make a real difference in Yemen by donating to our water campaign. It’s our aim, with your generous help and assistance, to continue providing water to those who are in need of our support.
