Silence is betrayal event 2016

On the 17th March 2016 a group of SABA Relief volunteers got together at their local Sixth Form College to hold their “Silence is Betrayal” event. Their aim was to raise donations for SABA Relief’s Water Project and, by the grace of Allaah (swt), they raised over £800 for the cause!

The aim of the event was to raise awareness for the forgotten humanitarian crisis in Yemen and it was a fantastic afternoon in which over 50 people from all different backgrounds got together.

“It was good to see everyone from different religions and cultures unite, and to spread the word on what’s happening in Yemen” – Haneen Al-Haddad (one of the event organisers)

The day included a flash mob, spoken word poets, presentations, and a delicious cake sale. You can view photos of the day, as well as projects that SABA Relief are implementing on the ground, in our gallery.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our volunteers – we greatly value the time and effort that they contribute to the cause. May Allah accept their efforts, Aameen.
